Project Overview
The Carrickfergus Gasworks opened in 1855 and supplied gas for over 100 years until its closure in 1987. The Grade A listed building was then fully restored and became a visitor attraction until it became necessary to close in 2022. Located in a picturesque spot near the harbour, It remains Ireland's only surviving coal gasworks.
Bury Associates were commissioned to carry out a measured survey and topographical survey of the site. This was necessary for the production of a condition report for future works to be carried out.
