A Look Back at 2025

This year of surveys at Bury Associates

As we're bringing 2025 to a close, it feels like a nice moment to pause, reflect and say a proper thank you.

This year was shaped by the clients we've worked with, the land and buildings we've surveyed and the conversations we've had along the way and we really appreciate it! Everything we've surveyed, base plans to complex refurbishments it's been a year full to the brim with interesting challenges. Most importantly, we've had some genuinely fun projects. At times some scanning jobs had particularly interested visitors...

The projects that made the year

We’ve surveyed individual residential properties and much larger commercial and mixed-use buildings. Some projects were quick and tidy. Others were long, detailed, and required real collaboration with design teams to get things just right.

What stands out to me isn’t necassarily the size or scale, but the people involved. Working closely with architects, engineers, and developers who value our accuracy, and good communication is one thing that makes projects run smoothly and keeps them enjoyable.

Nearly 30 years in business

Bury Associates has been surveying buildings for almost 30 years now. Over that time, the industry has changed dramatically.

We remember when BIM was first introduced and everyone was finding their feet. It was new, unfamiliar, and full of potential. Fast forward to today and BIM, Revit models and digital survey data are a normal part of many projects, helping teams coordinate better and reduce risk.

Now, conversations are shifting again. AI, automation and smarter data use are starting to influence how our information is captured, processed and shared. While the tools continue to evolve one thing hasn’t changed: the need for reliable, well-considered survey data at the very start of a project.

Technology should support good decision-making, not replace experience. That balance is something we’re always mindful of.

Services clients relied on most in 2025

  1. Measured building surveys for refurbishment and retrofit projects
  2. Topographical surveys to support planning and site design
  3. Matterport tours and reality capture for remote access and record keeping
  4. BIM and Revit models to help coordinate complex schemes

Each service plays a different role, but shares the same goal to give project teams accurate information they can trust and easily understand. We are glad to work alongside a vareity of companies who really mix it up from day to day for us.

Looking ahead

As we go into 2026, we’re excited about what’s coming. New technology will continue to develop, regulations will keep evolving, and refurbishment projects will remain a key focus across the built environment.

Our role stays the same. To guide clients with clear, dependable survey information, communicate openly, and make the early stages of projects feel straightforward and well supported.

To everyone we worked with in 2025 - thank you for trusting us with your buildings and your projects. If you’re planning works in the year ahead, we’d be very happy to help.
