bCAD Privacy Policy

This policy explains how the bCAD Chrome extension handles information. bCAD is provided free of charge by Bury Associates Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”), a company registered in England & Wales (company number 03365455).

It covers the bCAD browser extension only. Our main website, www.buryassociates.co.uk, is covered by the company’s general Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

bCAD is a viewer and mark-up tool for DWG and DXF drawings. Everything it does happens locally, in your browser, on your device:

• Your drawings stay on your computer. When you open a DWG or DXF, it is read and displayed by the extension on your own machine. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party.
• Your mark-up stays with you. Measurements, survey points, drawn lines and text, and any CSV, DXF or PDF you export are created on your device and saved wherever you choose to save them.
• No account, no sign-in. bCAD doesn’t ask you to register or log in, and doesn’t identify who you are.
• No tracking or analytics. The extension contains no analytics, advertising or usage-tracking code. We don’t monitor how you use it.
• No personal data collected. We don’t collect names, email addresses, locations or any other personal information through the extension.

bCAD can remember a few preferences – such as your chosen units, decimal places and snap settings – so it behaves consistently each time you open a drawing. These are stored locally in your browser on your own computer. They stay on your device, are not sent to us, and you can clear them at any time by removing the extension or clearing its storage in Chrome.

bCAD only requests the browser permissions it needs to open and display drawings you choose to load. It doesn’t read your browsing history, your other tabs, or files you haven’t opened in it. It doesn’t need, and doesn’t request, access to your online accounts.

Because bCAD doesn’t collect your data in the first place, there’s nothing for us to share, sell or pass on. No data from the extension is sent to us or to any third party.

bCAD is a professional tool aimed at people working with CAD drawings. It isn’t directed at children and doesn’t knowingly collect any information from anyone.

If we change how bCAD works in a way that affects this policy, we’ll update this page and change the “last updated” date at the top. Because bCAD doesn’t collect data, we don’t expect the substance of this policy to change often.
