Measured Building Survey
Project Overview
This circular 16th-century stone-built windmill structure has been deteriorating over recent years. Stones have either fallen or been removed from the facades and urgent repairs are needed to preserve this local landmark.
Bury Associates were commissioned to carry out a detailed measured survey that would identify all areas where stones were missing and give a full understanding of the structure to enable the restoration project.
Solution
The structure was fully captured in 3D using a laser scanner and a drone. The scans and photogrammetry were merged together to create a Reality Mesh. The mesh along with detailed CAD drawings were issued to the client.
